Saving the Section Share Assignment

    

When all the required section share definitions are in place, they can be moved into the assignment container below and saved. To do so, click the "import selected elements" button. Please note that incomplete definitions cannot be moved into the assignment container.

When making an assignment, several elements in a category can be added at once. Thus, for instance, you can designate several start fields or data streams for a role in one go. In this example, the 'Sales' role has been given read-only rights for three data streams at the same time and the following query is therefore displayed:

•Treat element(s) as a group: The selected elements in a category make up a package for which all further settings apply collectively. In our example, the same start date shall apply for all three data streams.

•Treat element(s) individually: The selected elements in a category are defined one by one and can each be treated differently and have their own settings applied.

If the three data streams are treated individually, in the 'Actual' stream, for instance, but not for the other two streams, you could add the 'unrestricted' time period and the "read and write values" share type. In this way, a user can be granted different access rights in the 'Actual' stream from in the 'Budget' and 'Forecast' streams.
