Function Shares for Folders

    

If you select a folder in the hierarchic display of the data source overview, you can define a function share for the entire folder. This share will be automatically inherited by all the data sources contained in that folder.

 

With this function, it is possible for, say, a particular role to be set up with full access to its own special folder. Thus, all members of that role could create their own new data sources and save them in that folder, as they will be prompted to specify a folder in which to store the data sources they create. The following rights are available in the 'Administration' category:

 

•Administrators: With this right, the selected roles are given the administration role. These roles will then have full Admin rights, and thereby all privileges for the administration and management of the data sources in that folder. Provided that sufficient licences are available, administrators are able to open and edit all data sources with full access from any client.
•Full data source access: This function right permits a role to edit the data sources without any access restrictions. All restrictions which may be set in the section share are cancelled by this function right. Furthermore, since this right covers every function which exists in Corporate Planner, there is no need to assign any other function rights to that role.

 

The other function rights which you can assign for a folder relate to the Corporate Planner, Corporate Planner Finance and CP-Cons data sources it contains (see above).
