When you have carried out a licence upgrade (version 5.x >>> version 6.x), you will need to reassign your user licences and migrate your existing data sources. You will only be able to access the content of your data sources via the Corporate Planner Web Client after you have migrated your data sources.
When you have activated your new licence, to migrate your data sources, proceed as follows:
Assign user licences In the CP-Control Center, assign the available licences to your users as required. You will need to assign the relevant access licences for each solution.
Migrate data sources In order to be able to use existing Corporate Planner standard / CP-Finance / CP-Sales data sources in the Web Client, you will need to migrate these data sources in the CP-Control Center. For this purpose, in the Data Source Overview you will find the "Migrate content" function.
When you execute this function, the content of the selected data source will be transferred to the CP-Suite content database (content.db) and the private/public functionality will be enabled for the content of that data source. For users with administrator rights (root), all items of content will be instantly available in the Web Client.
Whenever a data source is migrated and whenever new content is created, synchronisation with the content database takes place automatically. Should any problems occur with the automatic synchronisation, click "Synchronise content" to carry out the synchronisation manually.
Assign new function rights In the CP-Control Center, assign the Publish content and Share content function rights to the relevant roles. This is how you determine which users (roles) may publish the private content they have created and saved, and which users (roles) may share or distribute their published content so that other users can access it.
Share content Users who have the Share content right can use the "Content sharing" function in the Web Client to grant other users (roles) read-only or write access to the available content. Please read Sharing Content for details.
