Function Share

    

If you select a single data source in the data source overview, the function share tab appears in the lower pane of the data source overview. This is where you can share specific function rights within the selected data source for any roles you wish. The functions which can be shared will depend on whether you are dealing with a standard, Finance, CP-Cons or CP-Sales data source.

 

A new role does not have any function shares for any data sources to begin with (except for the Root role). Function shares must be explicitly assigned to each role according to which functions that role should be permitted to carry out. In general, rights can only be granted and not denied. Definitions whereby a role is denied a certain permission are not supported.

 

Please note:

Some function rights override the specific permissions granted in the section shares:

- Edit structure: the role receives permission for the entire structure in the data source

- Edit data streams: the role receives permission for all data streams in the data source

- Full access: the role is granted unrestricted access to the data source.

 

 

Assigning roles:

To assign a role to a function, first select the desired function. To have the available roles displayed, click the 'Edit role assignment' column on the very right. Then select the desired role from the 'Free roles' column and assign it to the selected function with the arrow-left button icon_rolleVerschieben. You can view all the roles assigned to the individual functions in the 'Assigned roles' column. Each of the functions will be explained below.
